What is Sugaring?
Sugaring or sugar waxing is an all-organic method of waxing the skin. Free of dyes, resins, and preservatives that can be found in traditional wax. Sugaring is preferred for those with sensitive skin largely in part to sugar being gentler on the skin.
What is the Difference between Sugaring and Wax?
The main difference between Sugaring and traditional waxing is how the hair is pulled. Sugar is applied in against the direction of hair growth and pulled towards the direction of hair growth. With Waxing it is the exact opposite. This is important because when pulling with the direction of the hair when sugaring, this prevents breakage of the hair leaving you hair free longer.
Benefits of Sugaring
Sugaring regularly can lead to permanent decrease of hair and less ingrown hairs. Since sugar is malleable, it not only provides a gentle exfoliate of the skin but can effectively clean out dead skin cells and debris from pores preventing future ingrown hairs. Because sugar can reach into the pore, hair is pulled from the root. This decreases the blood flow to the hair follicle leading to the decrease of regrowth and the hairs that do grow back tend to grow back thinner. Sugar also only binds to dead skin cells and hair leaving the skin irritation and bump free after treatments.
